Here are a couple of lectures which you may find inspirational or at least interesting, the first is 'Real Is Only Halfway There' by Peter Cook. Which is themed largely on capturing the essence of a project through drawing,rendering etc. which is not necessarily the most 'real'. It's only an hour and a bit if you don't watch the questions.
Another lecture which may also be interesting especially in relation to our conversations about use of perspective today is the first lecture in this video. In it Cammy Brothers presents a potential future for the drawing which is more poetic, through looking a brief history of drawing for purposes beyond construction drawing. Her lecture only lasts 30mins or so, perfect for a lunchtime :).
